What have we done during October?

Hello everyone. It is time for another project update to inform you what has been happening behind the scenes during October. With pledges now locked, we have been able to work on delivering.
The New Rulebook
Much of our time has been focused on preparing the new rulebook for the printer. The final draft is now with Steve Beckett, who has laid out all of the text and drawn lots of handy diagrams. We spent a large part of October taking lots and lots of new photos of exceptionally well-painted miniatures, which Steve is currently adding to the book.
Red indicates the core rules section, and Blue indicates the advanced rules section.
We have commissioned lovely painted versions of the new Kickstarter miniatures from some of our favourite painters, Ben MacIntyre (Brush Demon), Sylvain Achache, and Steve Beckett.
The Oscan Players possibly have the best Gang Leader in the game.
Hold my toga! Acrobats will be showing off on a tabletop near you soon.
We have also taken the opportunity to include lots of pictures of firm favourites from the original range, painted by Darren Linington, to provide a sense of continuity.
Plastic Citizens of Rome
Test shots of the new plastic frame are coming to us from Wargames Atlantic. Once they arrive, we will share our thoughts on them in a future update. We are also ordering a stock of frames to fulfil all the plastic box sets included in your pledges. The plastic box set has been the most popular add-on for this campaign.
The above pictures are painted test prints of new plastics Gang Fighters, which we have used to create the two gangs featured in the Core Rules section of the book. We are so excited with how these have turned out, as they provide pretty much endless options.
Production and Packing
Here at the Footsore Miniatures and Games secret lair, we have been cracking on with pledge production. Plenty of casting of white metal miniatures has been taking place. We now have a metal mountain of stock safely tucked away, ready to be used to fulfil pledges in the new year.
Boxes full of Gangs of Rome miniatures are being prepared to fulfil pledges.
Sarissa Precision has also done us proud by producing the full-colour printed MDF Gangs of Rome Tokens, and they look splendid! The new artwork helps to place games in the ancient city. As well as the cool tokens which are needed to play the game, they also include a rather snazzy ruler and objective markers.
Sarissa has delivered all the tokens and buildings ready for pledge fulfilment.
How are we doing against our Timeline?
Everything is looking to be on schedule for pledges to leave from here at Footsore by the end of January 2024. You will be the first to know if this changes for any reason.

Citizens of Rome plastics!

With all the white metal stock produced and packed, we're now focused on our new Citizens of Rome plastics in partnership with Wargames Atlantic. This week, the first test shots of the new frame took place, and they look amazing! With so much choice, we're excited to see what you create with these new miniatures once they arrive.

The Citizens of Rome plastic frame is designed to be versatile, allowing you to create both Gang Fighters and Mobs. With five frames in a box, you'll have plenty of options to customise everything you need for a game of Gangs of Rome.
Before the plastic frame was ready, we 3D printed some and sent them to Ben and Steve, with instructions to create fighters and citizens, respectively. The results, which you can see below, are fantastic.

If you are like what you are seeing here, there is still the option to make a very late pledge. Locked Pledges & Charged Cards

Just a heads up that we have locked pledges and charged cards this morning (UK time) for any outstanding monies from the pledge manager. This means that your pledge is now finalised, and you will not be able to make any changes. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

This update is a massive friendly reminder we have only four days(including today) before we lock completed pledges on the 1st of September 2023. Please make sure your pledge is completed by midnight on the 31st of August 2023, enabling us to despatch it to you by the end of January 2024.
We can not guarantee your pledge will be despatched at the end of January 2024 if completed after the 1st of September 2023 deadline. If you have any questions or need help, please get in touch with us ASAP.
The free PDF download of the rules will be made available to backers once the manuscript has been completed and is on its way to the printers. We will make the STL for the free bases available at the same time.

Hi everyone, We wanted to give you a quick update on the Gangs of Rome Kickstarter campaign. We're now just 10 days away from locking completed pledges.
We currently have 53 uncompleted pledges, which is only 8% of the total. It would be great to have everything finalised as soon as possible.
Don't forget you haven't completed your pledge until you click the 'Place My Order' button
If you've already completed your pledge, but you need to add something or change your shipping address, you have until the end of this month to do so.
Please note that if you don't finalise your pledge by the 31st of August, 2023, you will receive your pledge much later, most likely inApril 2024. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but we need to draw a line somewhere in order to ensure that we can deliver on time.
How is the Rulebook progressing?

The rulebook is coming along nicely! We're currently working on the final version, and we're hoping to have it finished by the end of September 2023.
We thought(know) you might(would) like a sneak peek at the new version 2 rulebook. Below you can see what Steve Beckett, George Asling and Andy Hobday have been up to. NB:Everything shown on these example pages is subject to change, at least for a few more weeks.

Version 2 contains lots of diagrams and pictures of nicely painted miniatures, making the finished book easy to follow and inspirational. We'll be sure to keep you updated on progress. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to let us know.
How is Production?
Footsore Miniatures & Games have started the manufacturing process. Below you can see the production progress of the white metal miniatures:

Having the white metal figures cast up means we are able to send some off to paint. Currently, all the new miniatures are away with painters, which means soon, there will be lots of newly painted figure images to share.
How are the Plastics Progressing?
The most popular add-on for this campaign has been the plastic box set
Our major update about the new plastic Gangs of Rome frame is it has been finalised with Wargames Atlantic and is now away being tooled! We will bring you more pictures and news over the coming month, including pictures of painted miniatures. We can not wait.
We will send another gentle reminder early next week, flagging the deadline of the 31st of August 2023 for pledges being locked. And in the meantime, if you have any other questions about what you need to do or the pledge manager or anything else, please get in touch.
